Hermés Carré Club

Visiting Hermés Carré Club on 20 October 2018 was such an amazing experience. Visitors are able to see how the process of the scarce making and it really amused me. I got opportunity to ask the artists how they got the job as Hermés designer, and it turns out they are all freelancer. Every artists have different way to ge the inspirations to make the prints and pattern on Hermés scarves. One of my favourite artist, Alice Shirley was a children book's illustrator. Hermés contacted her due to her interesting drawing characteristic. Another artists are Octave Marsal and Theo Degueltzl. A drawing duo, inspirited from the detailing of flower and architecture. After they sent their drawings to Hermés, the drawing then use colour testing by Hermés internal designers and screen printed one by on. Knowing the processes of the scarves making makes me to realise that it is worth it to pay SGD$600 for each scarf.
